NICHOLAS IAN

Hi! I’m Nicholas.

I’m an acting, singing, and dancing skyscraper in the city of Chicago, and that’s without shoes on. I studied Lyric Theater—a newly developed program that fuses musical theater and operatic technique started by Nathan and Julie Gunn—at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Champaign. While there, I was able to expand my education toward other personal goals as well, including costume construction, linguistics, and clowning!

Post-graduation, I moved to Chicago to pursue both musical theater and drag performance. Since then, my tapping toes have not once stood still, as I’ve found myself completely immersed in the windy city’s inclusive theater community.

I thrive in creating characters both emotionally and physically, and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve found power in stepping into the shoes of any of these characters whether they wear 1930s spats or 6-inch heeled kinky boots—as long as they’re a men’s 12.
